…. in creating portraits that feel like memory:
It’s the small glances,
the way the light hits their hair when they laugh,
the late afternoon sun,
the kind that turns everything golden.
My sessions are slow.
Spacious.
Like a walk through your favourite park at golden hour, barefoot and softly spoken.
The Story of My Heart
It is eternity now. I am in the midst of it. It is about me in the sunshine; I am in it as the butterfly in the light-laden air. Nothing has to come; it is now. Now is eternity; now is the immortal life.
Richard Jefferies

Longing...
“There is almost a sensual longing for communion with others who have a large vision. The immense fulfillment of the friendship between those engaged in furthering the evolution of consciousness has a quality impossible to describe.” ― Pierre Teilhard de Chardin
We are story...
“All that we are is story. From the moment we are born to the time we continue on our spirit journey, we are involved in the creation of the story of our time here. It is what we arrive with. It is all we leave behind. We are not the things we accumulate. We are not the things we deem important. We are story. All of us. What comes to matter then is the creation of the best possible story we can while we’re here; you, me, us, together. When we can do that and we take the time to share those stories with each other, we get bigger inside, we see each other, we recognize our kinship – we change the world, one story at a time…” ― Richard Wagamese
Awaken in the dream...
Will we wake up in the dream in time? Or are we too profoundly distracted?
Florals and portraits ... a session with me is about colour, movement, emotion, and storytelling... creating timeless keepsake photography for your home of what is dear to you . Please DM if you want to find out more about my post lockdown bookings for March.
Beyond...
“I am reality without beginning . . . I have no part in the illusion of ‘I’ and ‘you,’ ‘this’ and ‘that.’ I am . . . one without a second, bliss without end, the unchanging, eternal truth. I dwell within all beings as . . . the pure consciousness, the ground of all phenomena, internal and external. I am both the enjoyer and that which is enjoyed. In the days of my ignorance, I used to think of these as being separate from myself. Now I know that I am all.” ― Robert Lanza, Beyond Biocentrism
Starring you...
Newly framed images giclée printed on photo rag from a recent local family portrait session. The matt finish of Hahnemüle Photorag gives muted blacks with even colour reproduction. The surface has minimal texture with a chalky smooth cotton feel which creates smooth colour gradients. Images can be mounted and framed to your taste. These images show an off white mount and black matt frame.

Telling all of one's heart...
“Courage is a heart word. The root of the word courage is cor—the Latin word for heart. In one of its earliest forms, the word courage meant ‘To speak one’s mind by telling all one’s heart.’ Over time, this definition has changed, and today, we typically associate courage with heroic and brave deeds. But in my opinion, this definition fails to recognise the inner strength and level of commitment required for us to actually speak honestly and openly about who we are and about our experiences—good and bad. Speaking from our hearts is what I think of as ‘ordinary courage.'” @brenebrown

We are each other...
“Do not fall for categories. Everyone is everything. Every ingredient inside a star is inside you, and every personality that ever existed competes in the theatre of your mind for the main role.” — Matt Haig, The Humans
Walk your own path...
“Hold your ground and walk your path,
deaf to misconceptions, fears and doubts
of those who don't dare to live their own lives.
Walk your path fearless like a lion
and tender like morning dew.” ― Petra Poje - Keeper of The Eye
Human hearts ♡
“The human heart...tells us that we are more alike than we are unalike.” ― Maya Angelou, Letter to My Daughter.

You must learn one thing...
“You must learn one thing:
the world was made to be free in.
Give up all the other worlds
except the one to which you belong.
Sometimes it takes darkness and the sweet
confinement of your aloneness
to learn
anything or anyone
that does not bring you alive
is too small for you.” ― David Whyte
Things i love...
One of the things that I love most about documenting families is coming back again each year -- telling your story and capturing your emotions as your family grows up and giving you everlasting memories is one of my favourite things.
The Silent Revolution
“People are illogical, unreasonable, and self-centered.
Love them anyway.
If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives.
Do good anyway.
If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies.
Succeed anyway.
The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow.
Do good anyway.
Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable.
Be honest and frank anyway.
The biggest men and women with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest men and women with the smallest minds.
Think big anyway.
People favor underdogs but follow only top dogs.
Fight for a few underdogs anyway.
What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight.
Build anyway.
People really need help but may attack you if you do help them.
Help people anyway
Give the world the best you have and you’ll get kicked in the teeth.
Give the world the best you have anyway.”
Kent M Keith, The Paradoxical Commandments (The Silent Revolution)
Floral prints by me...
“Dare to be naïve.” ― Richard Buckminster Fuller
I’ll be stocking my online shop soon with floral delights — giclée printed on fine art paper 325gsm hahnemuhle photo rag…
Those brief moments...
“Because it is occasionally possible, just for brief moments, to find the words that will unlock the doors of all those many mansions inside the head and express something - perhaps not much, just something {...}
Something of the inaudible music that moves us along in our bodies from moment to moment like water in a river.
Something of the spirit of the snowflake in the water of the river.
Something of the duplicity and the relativity and the merely fleeting quality of all this.
Something of the almighty importance of it and something of the utter meaninglessness.
And when words can manage something of this, and manage it in a moment, of time, and in that same moment, make out of it all the vital signature of a human being - not of an atom, or of a geometrical diagram, or of a heap of lenses - but a human being, we call it poetry.” Ted Hughes

Fleeting moments...
“To love someone fiercely, to believe in something with your whole heart, to celebrate a fleeting moment in time, to fully engage in a life that doesn’t come with guarantees – these are risks that involve vulnerability and often pain. But, I’m learning that recognizing and leaning into the discomfort of vulnerability teaches us how to live with joy, gratitude and grace.” — Brené Brown, The Gifts of Imperfection
